49ers' Brooks wins appeal of fine on hit on Saints QB Brees
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks got some good news on Friday; Brooks won his appeal of the fine for his hit on New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.
Brooks was fined $15,750 for a hit on Brees during New Orleans 23-20 victory over San Francisco on Nov. 17. On the play Brooks sacked Brees and forced a fumble which the 49ers recovered. However, he was given a 15-yard penalty on the play for unnecessary roughness because he hit Brees in the neck/head area.
The penalty allowed New Orleans to continue the drive (they kicked the game-tying field goal) and eventually pick up the victory.
