The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly looking to enhance their home field advantage.

In addition to the extra seating, the stadium will also get a new $3.3 million scoreboard, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“We are pleased that an agreement...has been reached that will allow for the expansion of Heinz Field in the South Plaza," Steelers president Art Rooney II said in a statement.

"With the new general reserved seats, club seats and new high-definition scoreboard, we believe these additions will play an important part in making sure Heinz Field continues to be a state-of-the-art facility for our fans,”

Heinz Field ranks 26th in the NFL in seating capacity at 65,050. After the renovations, the new capacity of 68,050 will move it up to 20th in the league ahead of Jacksonville's EverBank Field.

The Steelers are 75-28-1 all-time at Heinz Field, good for a .721 winning percentage. They are 7-3 all-time in playoff games there.

The stadium opened on August 18, 2001.
