Browns waive Jason Pinkston, career likely over due to blood clots in his lungs

It appears as if Jason Pinkston will be forced to put an end to his career due to blood cots in his lungs. The Cleveland Browns waived Pinkston on Monday after reaching an injury settlement with the offensive lineman.

It's an unfortunate turn of events, but the blood clots cut short Pinkston's season in 2012 and had kept him out of training camp so far this year.

"More than likely I'll have to retire," Pinkston texted to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "The Browns were great working with me and I would love to thank GM Ray Farmer and Owner Jimmy Haslam for my opportunity here in Cleveland. It's been an honor to be apart of the organization and city."

Pinkston was a fifth-round pick out of Pittsburgh in 2011 and started all 16 games as a rookie. However, he started just eight games in the following two years as he fought the blood clots in his lungs.
