The South Carolina state trooper that arrested and threatened the use of a taser on Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Montgomery has been fired, per the Associated Press.
Montgomery was stopped for speeding back in June by Lance Cpl. R.S. Salter after Montgomery was clocked going 89 mph in a 55-mph zone. Salter proceeded to threaten Montgomery with a taser when the Bengals defensive lineman was unable to understand the trooper's commands.
South Carolina's Department of Public Safety said that Salter was fired for violating agency policies including conduct unbecoming a state employee.
