The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted quarterback Mike Kafka from the practice squad to the active roster, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Starting quarterback Josh McCown is nursing a torn ligament in his right thumb and, while head coach Lovie Smith has yet to confirm the news, it is expected that Mike Glennon will get the call Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
To make room for Kafka, the Bucs released guard Rishaw Johnson.
