Johnny Manziel: 'I miss college life'

Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports

Johnny Manziel's career at Texas A&M was the stuff legends are made of.

Manziel won the Heisman Trophy as a redshirt freshman, became friends with Drake and was name-dropped in the rapper's hit song "Draft Day," and was scrutinized for his every move.

One wouldn't blame Manziel for wanting to leave College Station for the NFL, after conquering the world of college football.

Yet, like most 20-somethings, Manziel yearns for college.

"I think it's fair for me to say that I miss college life, but this is the decision that I made. And I knew very well going into the draft last year that it was going to be different for me and going to be a time for me to grow up," Manziel told Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer.

Manziel has played sparingly in his rookie year with the Cleveland Browns.

"Guys (in college) can come in with a 25-person class that you're with there for four or five years. Here you get a different mix of rookies coming in. It's a little smaller class. Everybody here goes home to their families."

The Browns selected Manziel 22nd overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

"In college, you're in the same class with some of the guys, you're doing the same things on campus, you're doing the same things outside of football, too."

Manziel and the Browns will play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
