Rodgers ties NFL record with 6 touchdowns in a half
Sunday night's matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears got out of hand in a hurry, as the Packers took a 42-0 lead into the half.
The dominant play of Aaron Rodgers once again led the way, with the quarterback completing 18-of-24 attempts for 315 yards, six touchdowns and a near-perfect quarterback rating of 156.2. Rodgers took a seat on the bench for the entire second half with Matt Flynn taking over. The Packers won easily 55-14.
The six touchdown passes in one half ties the all-time NFL record set by Daryle Lamonica in 1969.
While the early blowout made it impossible for him to keep the statistical pace in the second half, the performance reminded the football world Rodgers is one of the best in the business.
Wide receiver Jordy Nelson was Rodgers's favorite target on the night, hauling in six passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. The highlight was a 73-yard catch-and-run for a score.
