St. Louis unveils plans for new stadium in effort to keep Rams
Former Anheuser-Busch president Dave Peacock unveiled plans for a new open-air stadium Friday as part of an effort to keep the Rams in St. Louis.
"This is about the future … and that we need to fight for what is rightfully ours," Peacock said, according to David Hunn of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The proposed facility would seat 64,000 and would also accommodate soccer, Peacock said. Financing for the project would involve both public and private money, with a total cost of between $860 and $985 million.
The NFL would chip in $200 million towards the total cost of the stadium, with the Kroenke Group contributing a minimum of $200 million, reports Jim Thomas of The Post-Dispatch.

According to the plans, preparation for the site would begin in June and the stadium would be operational in time for the 2020 NFL season.
The announcement comes five days after Rams owner Stan Kroenke and Stockbridge Capital Group told the Los Angeles Times they plan to build an 80,000-seat NFL stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
Peacock has yet to meet with Kroenke regarding a new stadium, but said the Rams are aware of the plans.
