Cowboys sign Ryan Williams to 2-year contract extension

The Dallas Cowboys have signed running back Ryan Williams to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.
It's an interesting move for the Cowboys, who have yet to see Williams suit up for a game since signing him this past offseason, but they're likely banking on his talent paying off at some point down the road.
A 2011 second-round selection of the Arizona Cardinals, Williams struggled to stay on the field after suffering a ruptured patella tendon in the preseason of his rookie year.
With star running back DeMarco Murray set to hit free agency this spring, the Cowboys are wise to lock up a high-potential depth piece at the position.
