After a 12-year NFL career spent with five different teams, veteran offensive lineman Wade Smith announced his retirement Tuesday.
A 2003 third-round selection of the Miami Dolphins, Smith saw the most extensive action of his career with the Houston Texans from 2010-2013, starting all 64 regular-season games at left guard over that span.
Smith was rewarded with a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2012 after playing a key role in Houston's offensive front that led the way to the most successful season in team history.
Smith joined the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2014 season, appearing in five games before being released in October.
