Panthers owner Jerry Richardson donates $100K to Charleston victims
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson donated $100,000 to the families of the nine victims of Wednesday night's mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C.
In a letter dated Friday, Richardson wrote that he was donating $10,000 to each of the families to help cover funeral costs and other financial needs, and another $10,000 to the church as a memorial honoring the victims.

"We don't want to comment on the specifics of the donation, but know our hearts are one with those who grieve the loss of these individuals," Panthers spokesman Steven Drummond said in a text to Jonathan Jones from the Charlotte Observer.
