The New Orleans Saints released Brodrick Bunkley on Tuesday, parting ways with the veteran defensive tackle with a failed physical designation.
Bunkley, a 10th-year pro, had spent each of the past three seasons in New Orleans after joining the club as a free agent in 2012.
A first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2006, Bunkley appeared in 38 games and made 36 starts during his time with the Saints.
His departure leaves a void at the nose tackle position, with 2013 third-round pick John Jenkins the most likely candidate to step into the starting role.
