Redskins' Logan Paulsen to undergo surgery for turf toe, will miss 2015 season
Washington Redskins tight end Logan Paulsen is scheduled to undergo surgery for turf toe Monday and will be forced to miss the entire 2015 season, head coach Jay Gruden announced Saturday.
Paulsen, a blocking specialist key to the Redskins' running game, has appeared in all but five regular-season games since joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
Along with Niles Paul, who suffered an ankle injury in the preseason opener Friday, Paulsen is now Washington's second tight end to be ruled out for the upcoming year.
Jordan Reed will be in line for the top tight end role if he can stay healthy, but his long history of injury issues could conceivably force the Redskins to turn to the free-agent market before the regular season gets underway.
