Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt was forced to leave Sunday's preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers after an apparent ankle injury suffered in the second quarter of play.
Tuitt made his way to the sideline after having his left foot caught underneath him, and was carted to the locker room soon after being evaluated by team trainers.
The second-year defensive end is now the second Steelers starter forced to the sidelines with an ankle issue early in Sunday's game, as standout center Maurkice Pouncey headed for the locker room after suffering a similar injury.
Tuitt is slated for a starting role opposite Cameron Heyward on an otherwise thin Pittsburgh defensive line.
