Russell Wilson claims 'Recovery Water' healed his head injury during playoffs
Russell Wilson returning to last season's NFC Championship Game soon after taking a hit to the head was an issue that curiously went unaddressed in the days and weeks that followed.
Wilson's interesting claims as to why he was able to recover from the play, as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, is by far the most fascinating football-related tidbit to extract from the profile on the quarterback featured in the most recent issue of Rolling Stone.
The Seatttle Seahawks' budding superstar is an investor - and evidently a staunch believer - in "Recovery Water," a drink designed to aid workout recovery and accelerate recovery from injury.
"I banged my head during the Packers game in the playoffs, and the next day I was fine," Wilson explained. "It was the water."
"I know it works. Soon you're going to be able to order it straight from Amazon," he added.
Wilson doubled down on his feelings about the product he's heavily invested in on Twitter Wednesday.
Regardless of what Wilson may believe allowed him to avoid and/or recover from a head injury, the NFL's concussion protocol is certainly something that will continue to be evaluated going forward.
Wilson was somehow cleared to return to the game after an extremely short conversation with the Seahawks' training staff, despite there being far more strict in-game procedures put into place last season.
