Buccaneers' Mike Evans returns to practice Friday, ruled questionable vs. Titans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans returned to the practice field Friday for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury early in the preseason.

The second-year wideout was ruled questionable on the team's official injury report, seemingly giving him an opportunity to play in Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

"I feel great," Evans said Friday, according to Zach Shapiro of PewterReport.com. "I was able to run some routes full-speed and it felt good."

Head coach Lovie Smith appeared to indicate that Evans' status would come down to how much he can progress leading right up to game time on Sunday afternoon.

"It's a Friday, keep in mind that. But he was able to run around a little bit, didn't have any pain or anything like that, so we're on the road to recovery," Smith said. "How soon he gets back to full speed and how soon he's ready to actually play - each day will tell us more."

Coming off a standout debut season, Evans can be expected to enter the 2015 campaign as the No. 1 target for rookie quarterback Jameis Winston. Louis Murphy would step into the starting lineup opposite Vincent Jackson if Evans is unable to play in Week 1.
