Jason Pierre-Paul: 'I can't think of the last time my index finger got me a sack'

Jason Pierre-Paul appears quite confident that he'll be the same productive player when he makes his eventual return to the field.

The New York Giants defensive end, who had his index finger amputated after a Fourth of July fireworks incident, took to Twitter to downplay the potential impact of his injuries Thursday.

Pierre-Paul recently underwent a physical after a lengthy absence from team activities, where a disagreement over his readiness to play again saw him depart to continue his rehab elsewhere.

The two-time Pro Bowler would provide a significant boost for New York's defensive front once cleared for game action, but it remains unclear whether he'll have the opportunity to do so before the end of the 2015 season.
