Former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, agent Blake Baratz told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Finley hadn't played since suffering a bruised spinal cord in October 2013 and having to undergo surgery to fuse vertebrae in his neck the following month.
The 28-year-old recorded 2,785 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns while appearing in 70 games across six seasons.
Finley's most productive year came in 2011, when his 767 yards and eight touchdowns helped Green Bay to a league-best 15-1 record.
