Redskins' Jackson active vs. Patriots

DeSean Jackson is making his return to the field for a key midseason matchup with the defending Super Bowl champions.

The Washington Redskins wide receiver is active for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots after working his way back from a hamstring injury that's kept him on the sidelines since Week 1.

Jackson had been making progress and seemed close to returning earlier this season, but a setback suffered in practice last month pushed his return until after Washington's Week 8 bye.

His presence will immediately give the Redskins a weapon in the passing game, providing quarterback Kirk Cousins with a target capable of stretching the field vertically.

Jackson appeared in 15 games in his first season in Washington, posting a team-high 1,169 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

The Redskins' game-day inactives include CB DeAngelo Hall, NT Terrance Knighton, QB Robert Griffin III, TE Anthony McCoy, C Kory Lichtensteiger, DE Frank Kearse, and WR Rashad Ross.
