DeMarco Murray '100 percent' wants to be with the Eagles next season
The Philadelphia Eagles and DeMarco Murray's relationship has appeared strained of late.
The running back reportedly told Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie he wasn't happy with his role in the offense after last week's game. Combined with Murray's lack of productivity, it's led to speculation that Philadelphia and Murray are headed for a divorce.
However, Murray insisted Thursday that he sees a future with the Eagles when asked if he wanted to be back next season.
"100 percent. Yes," said Murray.
Murray confirmed he'd spoken to Lurie on the team flight last week but didn't give any further details about their conversation, saying they often sit together on planes.
"I've had conversations with Jeff Lurie before," he said. "I sit right next to him. I can't speak to my boss?"
The 27-year-old received only eight carries in Sunday's victory over the New England Patriots, but said he isn't the type of player to demand touches.
"I've never been one to talk to (Chip) or Jeffrey (Lurie) about, 'Hey, I need more carries,'" said Murray.
Murray emphasized that he made a long-term commitment when he signed with Philadelphia.
"I made a commitment to Jeff and Chip. ... When I sign on that dotted team, I knew I was going to be here for a long time," he said.
