The Washington Redskins are signing free-agent cornerback Cary Williams, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Williams was released by the Seattle Seahawks early last month after failing to live up to the three-year contract he signed this past spring.
Despite his recent struggles, the signing adds a much-needed veteran presence to Washington's secondary heading into the club's wild-card matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
The 31-year-old spent time with both the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles in the four seasons from 2011-14, starting in each of a possible 64 regular-season games over that span.
