L.A. relocation committee recommends Carson site at Tuesday meetings

A six-owner committee formulated to evaluate stadium options for potential relocation in the Los Angeles area appears to be making it known that it's in favor of one particular site.

The L.A. committee recommended the Carson project in a vote of 5-1 while meeting with the rest of the league's owners Tuesday in Houston, according to multiple reports.

Preferring the Carson project doesn't necessarily mean that the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders are set to make the move, as the NFL would presumably have the power to put a different combination of teams in either of the two proposed sites.

And advocating for one site over the other could also prove to be some sort of play on leverage in what's been an incredibly long process to determine the NFL future of the nation's second-largest market.

But a group of six influential owners seemingly going against the Inglewood proposal of St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke could prove significant nonetheless.

Either way, a resolution is expected to be reached at some point before the meetings are set to conclude Wednesday.

Any team relocating would require 24 of the league's 32 owners to vote in favor of such a move.
