Peyton Manning will be oldest QB to start a Super Bowl
The Denver Broncos' spot in Super Bowl 50 means that Peyton Manning is set to add yet another record to his Hall of Fame resume.
The 39-year-old will become the oldest quarterback to start a Super Bowl game when the Broncos take on the winner of the NFC Championship Game on Feb. 7.
Former Broncos quarterback and current general manager John Elway currently holds that record. He was 38 when he started Super Bowl XXXIII, leading Denver to a 34-19 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
The appearance on football's biggest stage will be Manning's fourth in 18 NFL seasons, giving him the opportunity to earn a second ring and even his Super Bowl record at 2-2.
Manning also becomes the first player to reach the Super Bowl under the tutelage of four head coaches.
Widely expected to be considering retirement at the conclusion of the season, a victory could provide Manning with the perfect ending to a legendary career.
