The Atlanta Falcons announced the release of veteran defensive tackle Paul Soliai on Wednesday.
While the move wasn't made official until shortly after free agency got underway, Atlanta had long been expected to part ways with Soliai.
The 32-year-old announced last month that the team would release him after the two sides were unable to agree on a pay cut heading into 2016.
Soliai again hits the open market and bolsters a strong class of available defensive tackles. He appeared in all but three games over two seasons with the Falcons after joining as a free agent in 2014.
