Ex-NBA star Nate Robinson pursuing NFL career
At just 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds, Nate Robinson - winner of three Slam Dunk contests - is undoubtedly one of the most impressive athletes to step foot on a basketball court.
Now, as his 11-year NBA career has all but fizzled out, the 31-year-old is looking to make history in the form of a transition to the gridiron.
Robinson, in a video entitled "The First" released Thursday by The Lead Sports, explained he wants to become the first athlete to play in both the NBA and NFL.
Once a multi-sport standout in high school, Robinson actually joined the University of Washington on a football scholarship, and started six games at cornerback for the Huskies as a freshman before shifting his focus to basketball.
Making it to the NFL after so many years away from football, and at an age where most professional players are on the downside of their careers, would be incredibly difficult.
But given the ability he once showed on the football field, might a team at least give him a look?
