The New York Jets have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Steve McLendon on a three-year contract worth up to $12 million, McLendon's agent told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
McLendon is the second addition the Jets have made to an already talented defensive front, joining former Chicago Bears lineman Jarvis Jenkins, who also finalized his reported two-year contract to join the team Wednesday.
Having established himself as a productive interior run defender, McLendon will be a candidate for early down snaps at nose tackle following the free-agent departure of Damon Harrison.
The 30-year-old appeared in 79 games and made 32 starts spending each of his first six NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
