Manziel's domestic violence case likely to be heard by new Dallas grand jury
A Dallas County grand jury had its term come to an end last week before it could hear the misdemeanor assault case against former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.
The case has been rescheduled and will likely now be heard by a new grand jury, Dallas County District Attorney Office spokeswoman Brittany Dunn told Jack Douglas of CBS11.
After a three-week investigation, Dallas police opted to have a grand jury decide whether there's enough evidence to bring charges against the former Texas A&M star.
Manziel is accused of hitting and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, during a dispute on Jan. 30.
The 23-year-old has remained an unsigned free agent since being waived by the Browns shortly after the offseason got underway in March.
