Penguins' Derrick Pouliot: Reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Pouliot (undisclosed) was sent down to the minors Wednesday.
Analysis:
Per NHL rules, Pouliot must have been cleared for action prior to being shipped off to the AHL. The youngster has been a top blue-line prospect for the Pens for some time, but injuries and a lack of consistency have seen him relegated to the minors for much of his career thus far. However, the Saskatchewan native is likely on a short list of potential call-ups should Pittsburgh need some additional depth due to injuries down the road.
