After helping spearhead an incredible turnaround for the New York Islanders, Barry Trotz won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top head coach for the second time in his career.
Trotz edged out Jon Cooper, who led the Tampa Bay Lightning to a historic 62-win season, and Craig Berube, who sparked a remarkable turnaround of his own with the St. Louis Blues.
Trotz took over an Islanders squad that allowed the most goals against in 2017-18 under Doug Weight, and turned them into a defensive juggernaut, allowing the fewest goals in the league in 2018-19.
Trotz's first Jack Adams came in 2015-16 as head coach of the Washington Capitals.
