The San Jose Sharks added Kendall Coyne Schofield to their broadcast team for the 2019-20 season, the team announced Thursday.

Coyne Schofield will serve as a color analyst for the team's television broadcast for a select number of games throughout the season, analyzing contests alongside either Jamie Baker or Bret Hedican. Longtime play-by-play man Randy Hahn will still call all action for Sharks TV broadcasts.

"I am beyond excited to join the Sharks broadcast team," she said in a statement. "Ever since the All-Star weekend this past January, the San Jose community and fans have welcomed me with open arms into the city and the Shark Tank. I can't wait to live, breathe and talk Sharks hockey next season as a member of the broadcast team."

Coyne Schofield became the first woman to partake in the NHL's All-Star Skills Competition this past season, competing in the fastest skater event in San Jose. She's among the most decorated female hockey players of all time, winning eight gold medals while representing the United States on the international stage.
