Zibanejad continues domination of Flyers with another 6-point game
Mika Zibanejad may as well run for mayor of Philadelphia because he owns that city.
The New York Rangers pivot scored a hat trick and added three assists Thursday in an 8-3 victory against the Flyers. He also recorded three goals and three assists in the second period of New York's 9-0 win over Philly on March 17.
In a span of five straight periods against the Flyers, Zibanejad has amassed 12 points. Both of his three-goal outings were natural hat tricks, too.
The Swede is the first player in NHL history with back-to-back six-point games against an opponent, according to Stats by Stats.
Here's a look at his first five points from Thursday:
Zibanejad got off to a slow start this season, but he's now up to 26 points - 14 of which have come against Philly.
Defenseman Adam Fox also picked up five assists in New York's trouncing of Philadelphia.
