Toronto Maple Leafs forward Pierre Engvall was suspended one game for high-sticking Los Angeles Kings defenseman Sean Durzi, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced Friday.
Engvall hit Durzi in the back of the head with his stick during an exchange in Thursday night's game.
Durzi wasn't injured on the play and remained in the game. The Toronto crowd booed the Kings blue-liner for the remainder of the contest.
It's the first time Engvall has received supplementary discipline in his 195-game NHL career.
