Red Wings sign Sprong to 1-year, $2M contract
The Detroit Red Wings are adding one of the most efficient scorers in the game, signing winger Daniel Sprong to a one-year, $2-million contract, the team announced.
Sprong tallied a career-high 21 goals and 46 points in 66 games with the Seattle Kraken last season despite averaging just 11:25 per contest. His 1.45 goals per 60 minutes ranked eighth among NHL skaters with at least 500 minutes at five-on-five, per Natural Stat Trick.

The Kraken non-tendered the 26-year-old, choosing not to give him a $787,500 qualifying offer to retain his services.
Sprong will compete for a more prominent role with the ascending Red Wings.
