Red Wings re-sign Raymond to 8-year, $64.6M contract
The Detroit Red Wings re-signed restricted free-agent winger Lucas Raymond to an eight-year contract carrying an average annual value of $8.075 million, the team announced Monday.
The contract contains a 10-team no-trade list in the final four years, per TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
The deal also makes Raymond the team's second-highest-paid player behind captain Dylan Larkin, whose contract carries an $8.7-million AAV.
It keeps Raymond signed through his age-29 campaign and buys four of his unrestricted free-agency years.
Raymond, the 2020 No. 4 pick, enjoyed a breakout season in 2023-24, racking up 31 goals and 41 assists for a team-leading 72 points in 82 games.
The 22-year-old Swede finished fourth in Calder Trophy voting in 2021-22 with a 57-point season. He endured a bit of a sophomore slump the following year, managing only 45 points.
Moritz Seider, Detroit's other key RFA, still remains unsigned. The Red Wings have $8.75 million in remaining cap space after signing Raymond.
