Canucks sign Hoglander to 3-year, $9M extension

The Vancouver Canucks rewarded winger Nils Hoglander with a three-year extension carrying an average annual value of $3 million, the team announced Sunday.

The contract will begin in 2025-26 and will walk him straight to unrestricted free agency in 2028 as a 27-year-old.

Hoglander, 23, set career highs with 24 goals and 36 points in 2023-24. His previous personal best in goals was 13, set during his rookie season in 2021.

He currently projects to begin the season on the third line, though he spent most of his time last year alongside J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser.

The Canucks drafted Hoglander in the second round in 2019. He's amassed 50 goals and 40 assists in 221 career games across four seasons.
