Capitals' Chychrun exits vs. Rangers with upper-body injury
Washington Capitals defenseman Jakob Chychrun didn't return after suffering an upper-body injury in Tuesday's 5-3 win against the New York Rangers.
Chychrun appeared to favor his left side before departing the contest in the first period.
Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery said postgame that there's a "little concern" for Chychrun, according to The Hockey News' Sammi Silber.
The 26-year-old has been playing on the top pairing with John Carlson, ranking second on the team in average time on ice. He's recorded two goals and two assists in eight games this season.
The Capitals acquired Chychrun in an offseason trade with the Ottawa Senators. Washington has also been without defenseman Matt Roy - another summer acquisition - since the season opener.
Chychrun is a free agent at the end of the season.
