Canadiens' Slafkovsky exits vs. Penguins after Acciari hit
Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky left Saturday's 3-1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins after a hard hit by Noel Acciari.
The collision occurred with just over three minutes remaining in the third period.
Slafkovsky threw his helmet down the tunnel as he went to the locker room. Acciari wasn't penalized on the play.
Montreal didn't provide an update on Slafkovsky's status after the game.
Slafkovsky recorded an assist against Pittsburgh, giving him one goal and eight points through nine games. The 2022 first overall pick missed three contests in October with an upper-body injury.
Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj took a run at Acciari in the dying seconds of the game. A scrum ensued, which resulted in Habs defenseman Jayden Struble fighting Penguins defenseman Ryan Graves.
The Canadiens have lost three straight games and are last in the Atlantic Division with a 4-7-1 record.
