Los Angeles Kings winger Tanner Jeannot was handed a match penalty Thursday for an illegal check to the head of Vancouver Canucks sniper Brock Boeser.
Boeser exited the game after the hit and was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the contest. He entered Thursday with a team-leading six goals on the season.
Jeannot, acquired by the Kings from the Tampa Bay Lightning in the offseason, has never been suspended in his five-year career despite his physical style of play. He was fined once, in 2022, for kneeing.
The Canucks overcame the Boeser injury to collect a 4-2 victory, extending their win streak to three games.
