Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson left Monday's 7-5 loss against the Montreal Canadiens with a lower-body injury and didn't return.

Thompson played one shift in the second period before exiting the contest. Head coach Lindy Ruff didn't have an update on his status postgame, according to The Buffalo News' Lance Lysowski.

The 27-year-old had 10 goals and 17 points in 15 games entering play. Thompson scored his 11th goal of the campaign in the first period.

Thompson tallied 29 goals and 56 points in 71 games last season. The best campaign of his career came in 2022-23 when he registered 47 goals and 94 points.

Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson also left the game due to a lower-body injury. The 24-year-old has one goal in 12 contests this season.
