3rd overall pick Sennecke added to Canada's WJHC camp roster
Hockey Canada added Anaheim Ducks third overall pick Beckett Sennecke to its selection camp roster for the World Junior Championship on Monday.
Sennecke has six goals and 14 points in his last four games with the OHL's Oshawa Generals. He scored five points in his first game after being snubbed from Canada's initial camp roster.
The 18-year-old has 21 goals and 44 points in 26 contests on the campaign to rank sixth in OHL scoring.
Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan won't play at Canada's selection camp for precautionary reasons but will still attend. The 19-year-old took a big hit from Generals defenseman Zackary Sandhu on Friday.
Sennecke is the second player to be added to Canada's selection camp roster after it was announced Dec. 2. Calgary Flames ninth overall pick Zayne Parekh replaced Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Harrison Brunicke on Dec. 6 due to injury.
Parekh, 18, has 10 goals and 34 points in 25 OHL games this campaign. The Saginaw Spirit blue-liner won CHL Defenseman of the Year last season.
Canada has to reduce its now 33-player roster to 25 before the tournament begins Dec. 26 in Ottawa.
