The Boston Bruins signed forward Mark Kastelic to a three-year contract extension with a $1.567-million cap hit, the team announced Friday.

Kastelic has four goals and 11 points in 39 games this season. His 76 penalty minutes are tied for most in the NHL, and his 151 hits rank second. He was set to become a restricted free agent after the campaign.

The 25-year-old was acquired in June from the Ottawa Senators as part of the Linus Ullmark trade.

Kastelic notched a career-high seven goals, 11 points, and 102 penalty minutes in 2022-23 with the Senators.

The 6-foot-4, 227-pound center has accrued 18 goals and 36 points in 183 career games. He has amassed 255 penalty minutes and won 56.1% of his faceoffs over four seasons.
