Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov missed Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs with an upper-body injury, though the ailment doesn't appear to be serious.
"He'll play as soon as he's healthy," head coach Paul Maurice said postgame. "I don't think it's a long-term deal."
Barkov briefly exited Tuesday's overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens but was able to return to the game. It's unclear what caused the injury.
The two-time Selke Trophy winner has recorded 19 goals and 48 assists in 64 games this season.
