New Jersey Devils forward Paul Cotter will have a hearing Monday for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech during Sunday's game, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced.
Cotter was assessed a match penalty for the hit, which bloodied Pelech.
Cotter hasn't been fined or suspended in his 217-game NHL career. He has 16 goals, 22 points, and 62 penalty minutes this season.
The Devils have two regular-season games remaining after Sunday before they begin their first-round series versus the Carolina Hurricanes.
