Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin had to be helped off the ice by his teammates after an awkward collision in the first period of Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the New York Rangers.

Rangers defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov appeared to fall directly on Seguin's right leg. Seguin seemingly favored that leg as he left the ice and he didn't return.

Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan had no postgame update on Seguin, adding that the forward would be re-evaluated Wednesday.

Seguin entered Tuesday with seven goals and 10 assists in 26 games.

The 33-year-old veteran was limited to just 20 regular-season appearances last season due to a hip injury that required surgery.
