The Rasmus Andersson sweepstakes appear to be down to four teams.

Two clubs from the Eastern Conference and two from the Western Conference remain in the mix for the Calgary Flames defenseman, reports TSN's Darren Dreger. The Boston Bruins and Vegas Golden Knights are considered strong contenders to land the 29-year-old, Dreger adds.

Andersson, a pending unrestricted free agent carrying a $4.55-million cap hit, is arguably the top blue-liner available. The right-shot defenseman has racked up 29 points in 47 games for the Flames this season while averaging a career-high 24:12 per contest.

The Flames and Golden Knights reportedly discussed a trade involving Andersson this offseason, with Vegas being his preferred destination at the time. The Golden Knights need a right-shot defenseman, as Alex Pietrangelo's career is likely over. Additionally, lefty Brayden McNabb is on LTIR.

The Bruins are also seeking a right-shot defenseman after trading Brandon Carlo last season.

Andersson's deal includes a six-team no-trade list, but the Flames could maximize a return if he signs an extension as part of a trade.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have also been linked to Andersson this campaign.
