Devils' Palat scratched for roster-related reasons
The New Jersey Devils are holding forward Ondrej Palat out of Tuesday's game versus the Winnipeg Jets due to roster-related reasons, the team said, according to reporter Amanda Stein.
Palat was seen leaving the arena before warmups, according to The Associated Press' Stephen Whyno.
Palat has four goals and 10 points in 51 games this season. He's averaging 12:45, the lowest of his career since his first stint in the NHL in 2012-13. Palat has two goals and zero assists in his last 11 contests.
The 34-year-old is signed through the 2026-27 campaign at a $6-million cap hit. He owns a no-movement clause and a 10-team trade list.
Palat ranks 24th on theScore's trade deadline big board.
He won two Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021, and will represent Czechia at the Olympics in February.
Palat has 38 goals and 92 points in 248 games since signing a five-year, $30-million contract with the Devils in 2022. He's totaled 181 goals and 515 points in 876 career contests with Tampa Bay and New Jersey.
