Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore scored in double overtime to seal a 5-4 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final and secure a 2-1 series lead.
The goal came from a wide point shot that deflected off the end boards and goaltender Brandon Bussi's pad before crossing the line. Bussi relieved Frederik Andersen after the starter allowed four goals in the second period.

Mitch Marner led the charge for the Golden Knights offensively, recording a natural hat trick and four points in the second frame. His three goals in 6:10 marked the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history.
The Golden Knights' offensive outburst came after they had two goals overturned by coach's challenges in the opening four minutes of the second period.
Carolina looked overmatched until exploding with three goals in 39-second span in the third period. Andrei Svechnikov then tied the game with 1:42 remaining in regulation.
Game 3 was the second consecutive overtime contest between the two clubs. Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday in Vegas.
