The Dallas Stars are signing veteran forward David Perron to a one-year contract worth $850,000, reports Sportsnet's Frank Seravalli.
Perron tallied 13 goals and 28 points in 65 games last season with the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings. He recorded three goals and zero assists after being traded to Detroit in March.
The 38-year-old Perron, who was an unrestricted free agent, will begin his 20th NHL season. His signing comes days after the Stars announced that forward Matt Duchene will miss three months following core surgery.
Perron has played in 1,239 games, compiling 332 goals and 812 points with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights, Red Wings, and Senators. He won the Stanley Cup with St. Louis in 2019.
