Toronto Maple Leafs forward Kirill Marchenko is week-to-week with a lower-body injury he suffered Monday against the Calgary Flames, the team announced Wednesday.
Additionally, Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev has been upgraded to day-to-day, while center John Tavares remains week-to-week.
Marchenko appeared to twist his knee during an awkward fall in the second period against the Flames. He played one more brief shift before leaving the game for good.

Marchenko has tallied 14 points in 14 games with the Maple Leafs this season. Toronto acquired him in September from the Columbus Blue Jackets in a trade that sent Matthew Knies the other way. The Maple Leafs subsequently signed Marchenko to a six-year extension carrying a $12.5-million average annual value.
With Marchenko ruled out, the Maple Leafs juggled their forward lines ahead of Wednesday's game against the Seattle Kraken. Most notably, Toronto promoted rookie Gavin McKenna to the top line, per The Athletic's Joshua Kloke.
| LW | C | RW |
|---|---|---|
| McKenna | Matthews | Roslovic |
| Cowan | Paul | Nylander |
| Groulx | Sissons | Lettieri |
| Duhaime | Blueger | MacEwen |
McKenna has notched three goals and five assists in 14 appearances this season while primarily skating on the third line at five-on-five.
Tavares hasn't played since Oct. 15 due to a lower-body injury, while Tanev has been out since Oct. 10 with an upper-body injury.
