PHOTO: Canadiens unveil Maurice Richard wax figure

The Montreal Canadiens unveiled the latest attraction to their Hall of Fame Thursday; a wax figure of legendary forward Maurice Richard.

Richard, one of the most memorable players in NHL history, played in Montreal from 1942-1960 and is the Canadiens' all-time leader in goals with 544. The first man to score 50 goals in 50 games, Richard led Montreal to eight Stanley Cups during his incredible career.

Richard is perhaps best known for a riot that erupted on the streets of Montreal when "the rocket" was suspended for the remainder of the 1954-55 season following an altercation with a linesman. He returned the next season to lead the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final, where they were eventually defeated by the Detroit Red Wings. 

Richard, who passed away in 2000, is hockey royalty and revered in Montreal, so it's only fitting a likeness of him will live on in the team's Hall of Fame.
